The Giants had their hands full as four key players were out for this game leaving the skeleton crew to attempt to avenge the 26-3 loss in the first week of the season. Down 4-0, the Giants broke through in the 3rd inning with six runs, with clutch hits by Josh Gutierrez, Jack Rhiel and Patrick Tippery. Ali Tam came in to shut down the Phillies explosive offense allowing no earned runs in 3 2/3 innings. Leo Rodriguez and Carl Cortum each reached base four times.
