Wow, what a great game to start the season.
With Joe Hernandez wearing blue behind the plate, the Angels came out strong
scoring four runs in the first.
The A's battled back scoring 2 runs in the second. Pitchers Gabe Martin and
Jonathan Miller kept it close while the A's scored two more in the third to tie
it. Carter Borchgrevink lined one up the middle to tie it up.
In the third inning Angels slugger Diego Menard drove one deep to left center
field and scored on an inside the park home run for the Angel's lead.
The A's own Eddie Curley started the A's come back rally with a single. Logan
Morris moved him to second on a hard hit grounder to first. Big Jack Randall
drove Eddie in with a double to right center field. Joe Barratt finished the
rally with a hard hit line drive sacrifice to first, scoring Jack.
Jack Randall came in to pitch the final inning and efficiently notched his first
save of the season. Jonathan Miller got the win.
As a coach I was very impressed by the hard work and big hearts of both the
Angels players and the A's. Baseball is a game...if the players have fun, then
we win. Thanks.
