The A’s bats were on fire throughout the day- 17 hits in all as the A’s beat the Rays 22-15. The A’s were led by pitching from Mark Gonzalez, Kaipo Vevera, Christopher Neely and first time pitcher Ezra Lara.

The A’s led 5-4 after one, but the Rays rallied back and were leading 12-8 after 3 innings. The A’s scored 5 in the fourth inning to lead 13-12. Kaipo Vevera struck out the side on 9 pitches in the bottom of the fourth, and Christopher Neely retired the first 3 batters in the bottom of the 5th (2 K’s)as the A’s extended their lead to 17-12. The A’s added 5 more in the 6th and Christopher Neely and Ezra Lara combined to hold the Rays to 3 runs and preserve the victory as Neely ended the game by catching a pop fly to 3rd base to get an unassisted double play at 3rd to end the game.

The A’s hitting attack was led by the following:
Antonio Alvarado 1-2 (1B), 4 runs scored; Christopher Neely 2-4 (2-1B), 4 runs scored; Nick Armstrong (4-4 (3-1B and 1-2B), 3 runs scored; Kaipo Vevera 3-5 (3-1B), 3 runs scored; Mark Gonzalez 2-3 (1B, 2B), 2 runs scored; Otto Steindorf 2-3 (2-1B) and Ezra Lara 3-4 (3-1B), 3 runs scored.

Getting hits for the Rays were Brandon Leal (1B), RJ Cerna (1B), Isaiah Maga?a (1B, 2B), Maureen McSweeney(1B), Cameron Reinig(1B) and Dev Bhakta(1B).
