Perfect weather for the A’s versus the Rays. Josh Burton led the charge for the A’s with 1 1/3 innings pitching and only allowing 2 runs as the A’s took a 10-2 lead. A triple by Josh Burton to lead off the bottom of the 1st, followed by a double by Kaipo Vevera started the scoring and singles in the 2nd by Joshua Chapman and Ezra Lara helped cap off the scoring through 2 innings.

The visiting A’s rallied back in the top of the 3rd with 5 runs thanks to a triple by Taylor Foster and a single by Chase Dashner. The A’s got an insurance run in the bottom of the 3rd with a leadoff triple by Mark Gonzalez (his second of the year) and stealing home on a passed ball. After that, the Rays struck out 6 of the next 7 batters thanks to some great pitching by Brandon Leal. Mark Gonzalez pitched the 4th for the A’s, striking out 3 out of 6 batters to seal the win as the red light came on between innings.

The A’s hitting attack was led by Joshua Burton (1-1, 3B, 2 runs scored), Kaipo Vevera (1-1, 2B), Mark Gonzalez (1-2, 3B), Joshua Chapman (1-2, 1B) and Ezra Lara (1-1, 1B). The Rays were led by Taylor Foster (2-2, 1B, 3B, 2 runs scored, and shook out a rough HBP to reach base all 3 times) and Chase Dasher (1-2, 1B).
