After the A's Eddie Curley led a very
inspired Little League Pledge and with Derek Carlson wearing blue behind the
plate, the game started at 10:08.
The A's Speedy Sam Carlson held the Cubs scoreless in top of the first. Big Jack
Randall led off the bottom of the first with a single and was moved to third on
a double by Gabe Martin. Sam Carlson drove them in and the A's led 2-0.
Both the A's Carter Borchgrevink and the Cubs Patrick Yldefonzo did great jobs
pitching a scoreless second inning.
Gabe Martin pitched a scoreless top of the third. Logan (Loganberry) Morris led
off the bottom of the third with a single and scored on a basehit by Eddie
Curley. A's led 3-0.
Ceasar Ambriz created some fireworks for the Cubs in the top of the fourth with
a line shot inside the park home run to shorted the A's lead to 3-1.
The A's came right back with a run of their own in the bottom part of the
fourth. Sam Carlson led off with a double Andy McGallian moved him to third and
Carter Borchgrevink drove him in for the A's final run.
Fireballer Eddie Curley threw a 1-2-3 fifth inning to seal the deal for the A's.
Thank you to both teams for playing hard and keeping your chins up. Remember how
lucky you are for being able to play this game.
