Concord American Baseball
Game Summary Minor Division
 Athletics vs Yankees - March 15, 2010
Athletics 13 - Yankees 11

This was a great opening game for the 2010 AAA season. After a rough pitching start for the A’s, Christopher Neely came in to let up only 4 runs in the next 3+ innings of work, including striking the side out in the 2nd inning on 9 pitches.

The Yankees took the lead in the first inning 3-2 with Jacob Goodwin getting a hit, but the A’s bounced back in the 3rd and 4th innings with 5 runs in each inning, thanks to hits from Nick Armstrong, Otto Steindorf, Alanah Forrest, Christopher Neely and Joey McClintock.

Trailing 12-6 entering the 5th inning, the Yankees put up 5 runs to close the lead to 12-11. The A’s added an insurance run in the bottom of the 5th inning with hits from Kaipo Vevera and Mark Gonzalez. Trailing 13-11, the game was called for darkness as the Yankees were starting to bat in the 6th Inning.

The Yankees had some great defense as they had 5 put-outs at home plate during the game. Antonio Alvarado and Josh Burton both scored 3 times during the game for the A’s and the Yankees had 5 players score twice (Raymond Epperly, Jacob O’Brien, Jacob Goodwin, Nathan Stratton and Anthony Duran) Game balls went to Christopher Neely (7 strikeouts) and Alanah Forrest (1-1, BB, 1 run scored; and a lot of hustle).
