Another exciting, extra-inning game between the Yankees
and Red Sox.
The Yankees scored a run in the first when Sid Stratton hit a triple to knock in
Nolan Brekle who had walked. The Red Sox came back with 3 runs in the bottom of
the first.
James Pooler hit a double and scored a run in the second inning on a groundout
by Jordan Bidwell and the Red Sox came right back with another run.
The Yankees broke through with 4 runs in the 3rd inning on doubles by Nolan and
James and singles by Miles Harrison, Trever Rivera, and Alex Alvarado. After the
Red Sox scored another run, the Yankees got 2 more in the 4th as Kevin Lara hit
a triple to drive in Max Susanto (who walked) and Michael Solero (who was hit by
a pitch).
Of course, the Red Sox came back with 4 runs and took the lead again 9-8 with
several strong hits. The Yankees tied the score in the 5th when Sid Stratton
scored after a hit by Jack Noftzger.
The score remained tied through the rest of the 5th and the 6th inning with
excellent pitching and defense. In the 7th inning, the Yankees scored twice on a
hit by Michael, another triple by Kevin and a hit by Ricky Coleman.
Nolan then finished his 3rd inning of scoreless pitching and the game was over.
Great game by both teams!
Game ball went to Jordan Bidwell who hit 2 balls to the outfield (great catches
by the Red Sox!) and also drove in a run with a groundout. These teams play each
other for the final time on Tuesday.
