A classic duel between the Tigers and Giants for the third time around this
season.
The tigers lead off the first with a single by Benjamin Ziebur. Unfortunately he
was stranded on base in the end.
Isaac Taylor began the offence for the Giants with a single. Dalton Meredith and
Ethan Angella followed with singles of their own. With the bases loaded, Ciara
Mendoza singled in Isaac to take the lead 0-1 before the end of the inning.
The Tigers were shut down in the second with great pitching by Dalton Meredith.
The Giants Bryce Pamer and Silas Vaughn each singled in the second but were left
on base.
The third inning was quite for both teams with no runs but had hits by Benjamin
Ziebur (second hit) for the Tigers and a double by Isaac Taylor (second hit) for
the Giants.
The forth proved to be a crowd pleaser and had standing room only in the
bleachers.
The Tigers came out to take back the lead and leave the park victorious. Mike
Coghlan singled to start it off. Jared Rodriguez followed with a single of his
own. With two on, Mason Whitton doubled, scoring both Mike and Jared. Isaiah
Rankin followed Mason with a single. Ethan Angella struck out the next two in a
row to end the Tigers assault and did retake the lead 2-1.
The Giants, not wanting to be outdone, put on their rally caps and went to work.
Dalton Meredith (second hit) singled. Ethan Angella (second hit) doubled to
right. With runners in scoring position, Thomas Herman put a rocket line drive
into center, scoring Dalton and Ethan. Thomas was left standing on first when
the inning was done. The Giants came home with the “W” 2-3.
You better hurry folks; tickets went on sale for the next match up between these
two teams. It’s guaranteed to be a sell out. Oh, one last thing, A big “HAPPY
BIRTHDAY” to Lauren Schmidt of the Giants.
