What an exciting game between these two teams. A cliff
hanger through 3 full innings. All teams in this division are worth seeing in
action.
In the top of the first, the visiting Cardinals started were they left off last
game with four solid singles from Garret Ganguet, Renato Mantilla, Joshua
Gutierrez and Jordan Teach. Garret scored taking the lead to 1-0.
The Giants fought back in the top of the first with three hits of their own from
Nathan Stratton, Dalton Meredith and Ethan Angella. Nathan scored tying the
score at 1-1.
The Cards exploded in the second inning with seven hits from Garret Ganguet
(second hit) Bryce Davis, Marco Urbine, Renato Mantilla (second hit), Jacob
Serna, Elisa (sorry dont have last name) and Samuel Buchholz. Scoring for the
Cards were Garret, Jacob, Elias and Samuel to take the lead back to 5-1.
The Giants were shut down in the second with no hits or runs.
Nathan Stratton came in to pitch in the third and struck out three in a row.
Great job Nathan.
The Giants rallied back in the third with seven hits of their own. Hitting for
the Giants were Nathan Stratton (second hit), Isaac Taylor, Ethan Angella
(second hit) Lauren Schmidt, Bryce Pamer, Daniel Scott (first hit of the season)
and a game winning double off the bat of Joey Bursey. Joey had to leave the
catchers position in the top of the third after being hit by a foul tip in the
leg, but that didn't stop him from helping the team out in the bottom of the
third. Scoring for the Giants were Nathan, Isaac, Ethan, Bryce and Daniel. The
lead went back to the Giants for good 5-6.
Both these teams deserve a round of applause for their spirit and sportsmanship.
You really need to go out and see all these teams play.
