What a great East Coast – West Coast battle today. The
Mets came out wanting to show the Giants that the East side was supreme.
The Mets were lead by Gold Glove winner Victoria Scalfaro. Victoria’s defensive
highlights today have been sent to ESPN’s Web Gems and are sure to win #1. The
highlights include an Ice Cream Cone catch from the mound, stopping a Giants
scoring attack in the 2nd inning. She also stopped another Giants scoring drive
with no outs in the top of the 5th inning with Bryce Pamer and Dalton Meredith
in scoring position. A fast line drive off the bat of Nathan Stratton was cut
short by Victoria stabbing the drive for out number one and stepping on First
base to score out number 2, then on her quick thinking she threw to Second to
have Bryce’s lead off cut down when he was returning to the base thinking the
ball had gone into Right field for out number three. Yes that’s right, a Met’s
TRIPLE play! You don’t see that in the big leagues.
The Mets offense was lead by Lucas Acton with two singles. Nicolas Oldham, Ryan
Parisi, James Cabral, Antonio Alvarado and Victoria Scalfaro each had singles
today.
For the West Coast Giants, their offense was lead by the trio of Bryce Pamer,
Ethan Angella and Isaac Taylor. Each had a pair of singles. Also hitting for the
Giants were Nathan Stratton, Angel Castro, Silas Vaughn and Dalton Meredith. All
for singles.
The game was fast paced, completing all 6 innings with time to spare.
A big thank you goes out to Loran Acton for stepping in to umpire the game. He
did a great job. Both the Giants and Mets Say “THANK YOU MR. ACTON!”
Game ball was unanimously voted to Victoria Scalfaro from the entire triumphant
Giants team. The Giants have one request for the next meeting, “Victoria, stay
home”. HA HA HA.
