This was a great game between the undefeated Giants and the 1- loss Red Sox. The visiting Red Sox took an early 3-0 lead in the first inning, and Eric Carraher pitched two scoreless innings to start the game. The Giants narrowed the lead in the third inning by scoring 2 runs to make it 3-2. Ryan Steindorf made a great play at shortstop to end the inning and preserve the lead. The Red Sox got some insurance runs in the 4th Inning to make it 5-2 and were able to hang onto the lead as the game ended because of darkness in the middle of the 5th.
It was a tense game throughout with great fielding and
hitting on both sides. I'm sure the future meetings between these two teams will
be great.
