The Yankee bats came to life in this game against the
Dodgers. The Yankees scored 5 runs in the first inning on singles by Miles
Harrison and Trever Rivera followed by a triple by Nolan Brekle. Sid Stratton
and James Pooler continued the rally with singles, then Brandon Rosemont knocked
in the 5th run with a grounder to shortstop.
The Dodgers came right back with a run in the bottom of the first, but the
Yankees were able to stop further damage with excellent defense. Both teams used
solid pitching and defense in the second inning to keep the game at 5-1, despite
a hit by Jack Noftzger.
The Yankees got 5 more runs in the third inning highlighted by triples by Miles
Harrison, Nolan Brekle, and Sid Stratton and singles by Trever Rivera and Max
Susanto.
The Yankees added 2 more runs in the 4th including singles by James Pooler,
Jordan Bidwell, and Brandon Rosemont. Good defense by Matthew Hollenbeck and
Bailey Mundy in the infield prevented further runs from scoring.
The 5th inning ended without any further runs scoring and the Yankees finished
the scoring with 3 runs in the 6th inning, including Sid Stratton's 3rd hit of
the day.
5 Yankee pitchers -- Jordan Bidwell, Kevin Lara, Miles Harrison, Jack Noftzger,
and Nolan Brekle combined to limit the Dodgers to 1 run with the help of their
defense.
Game ball went to Nolan Brekle for his 2 triples and quick inning of scoreless
pitching. Great sportsmanship was displayed by both teams throughout the game --
these 2 teams will play each other again on Tuesday.
