The Mets and Cardinals locked up in
another close contest with the Mets coming out on top this time,
9-7. The Mets scored three runs in the first, but the Cards came
back with seven unanswered runs to lead 7-3. The Mets scratched
out runs in the third, fourth, and fifth to edge the
Cards.Zachary Foy came in in the third inning and held the Cards
scoreless with five strikeouts and no walks for three innings
until Nathan Horton earned the save with a scoreless sixth.
Horton had two doubles and two RBI's, and Brandon Peterson added
a triple, single, and two runs scored. Joel Dodenhoff hit a
triple, Foy singled with two RBI's,and Ryan Bidwell had an RBI
single as well for the Mets. For the Cards, Roberto Hurtado had
two singles, Max Teranen had a double, and Daniel Golden,
Eduardo Bravo, and Trey Licciardo all singled.
