The Mets used a 4 run 5th inning to overtake the Pirates for an 8 to 5 win. Coach Peterson, knowing he had only 3, 12 yr old innings left for the week, used 2 young pitchers to get him thru the first 3 innings. Brandon Peterson and Ricky Montoya didn’t disappoint as the Mets entered the 4th inning trailing only 5 ­ 4. Nine batters came to the plate in the 5th and the Mets scored 4 times to take an 8 ­ 5 lead. Gartner, Collodel, Chisholm and Lloyd all scored. Mike Collodel pitched the last 3 innings, striking out 8 and giving up only a double to Sam Bouquin. Zack Foy and Ricky Montoya scored the first two Mets runs of the game. Sarah Morales added a single to keep the rally going in the 2nd inning .

              
Five of the seven Mets hits were extra base hits including a double and triple by Justin Chisholm who also scored twice.
