The
Giants avenged an earlier last at-bat defeat to the Cardinals by getting
one of their own., beating the Cardinals 6-5, in an exciting game between
two evenly-matched teams.With the score tied 5-5 in the bottom of the sixth,
Brandon Peterson led off with a triple down the right field line and scored
on a clean line drive single by Daniel Golden. Peterson and Golden allowed
no hits, striking out 11 and walking only three in their four and two-thirds
innings of work. Quincy Conn led the Giants offense with three singles,
Golden had two singles, and Ryan Nordlie, Devin McNally, and Marc Heider
singled for the Giants. Cory Berg had the only hit for the Cards, an RBI
single in the first.
