Concord American 16 - Concord Continental 3
 

In the face-off between two Concord All-Star teams, Concord American defeated Concord Continental, in 5 complete innings, 16 to 3.  The visiting CALL started early scoring 3 in the top of the 1st, which included a triple by, Mikie Bottini.  In the bottom half of the inning, CALL’s starting pitcher, Michael Rule, struck out 2, holding the score at 3 to 0.

CALL answered back in the 2nd scoring 2 more, this time with a double by, Corey Galindo.  CCLL’s, Julian Flamengo, singled in the 2nd eventually scoring on a basehit by their starting pitcher, Briana Zielinski. There was no score in the 3rd by either Concord team, but CALL scored 2 again in the 4th opening up the lead.  This included a double by Mikie Bottini, driving in Connor Harrington and who eventually scored when Andrew Gardner was hit by a pitch.
Connor Harrington who came in to pitch in the 3rd, struck 3 out swinging in the 4th. CALL broke open the score in the 5th scoring 9 runs, which included a triple from Connor Harrington and an in the park HR by Sean Flannery. CCLL’s Julian Flamengo and Dylan Wiley each scored in the bottom of the 5th with a final score of 16 – 3.

CALL’s offense came alive with help from Connor Knoll (3-for-5), Bobby Morales (2-for-3), Corey Galindo (3-for-5), Connor Harrington (2-for-3), Mikie Bottini (4-for-5),  Drew Farley (2-for-3),  Ray Buford (1-for-1), and Andrew Gardner (1-for-1).  CALL’s pitching duo consisted of Michael Rule and Connor Harrington, who combined to pitch 5 complete innings with 10K’s, 5 walks, and giving up only 7 hits with John Mendoza’s help behind the plate.
