Clayton Valley simply ran out of gas,
popping up 10 times to Continental infielders in the first 4 innings--3 times
with runners in scoring position--in a 6-5 loss to Continental. IF Jacob King &
OF Justin Amador provided most of the firepower for Continental, each crushing a
2-run doubles in the 5th & 6th innings. CV attempted a spirited run in the top
of the 7th on consecutive hits by 2B Max Kohn, OF/P Matt Osterkamp, P/C Tony
Romano & 3B CJ Lally to narrow a 6-3 defecit to 6-5, but with runners on second
& third, OF Adam Moody hit a sharp comebacker to the opposing P to end the game,
giving Continental its 2nd win to close out the 2012 regular season.
