After two days of rain delays the Red Sox opened the 2011 minor league season with a hard fought 13-10 win over the Tigers. Timely hits by Diego Menard, Andres Avila, Gabe Martin and Eddie Curley highlighted the offense as the Red Sox overcame a late 9-7 deficit. Jack Randall shut down a potent Tigers offense in the last inning. Andres Avila and Carter Borchgrevink had outstanding defensive games behind the plate for the Sox.
