This was an exciting, back and forth game between the
Yankees and the Dodgers. The Dodgers started with 3 runs in the first inning but
the Yankees took the lead in the bottom of the first with 4 runs on hits by
Miles Harrison, Trever Rivera, Sid Stratton, Jack Noftzger, and James Pooler and
a walk by Alex Alvarado.
The Dodgers came right back with 2 runs in the 2nd inning and the Yankees
responded with 3 more runs, including a walk by Miles, a single by Trever, a
double by Nolan Brekle, and a triple by Sid.
Both teams scored 1 run in the 3rd inning as the pitching and defense started to
take over. Jack picked up his second hit of the game.
The Yankees broke through for 5 runs in the 4th inning with walks by Jordan
Bidwell, Kevin Lara and Miles, followed by hits by Trever, Sid, Alex, and
Michael Solero.
Good pitching by Jack Noftzger and Nolan Brekle kept the Dodgers from scoring in
both the 4th and 5th innings. Will Burton of the Dodgers then shut down the
Yankees in the bottom of the 5th.
The Dodgers made a spirited comeback in the top of the 6th inning, scoring 5
runs and leaving the bases loaded before Nolan struck out the final batter.
Kudos to Jordan Bidwell for a saving catch of a long fly ball to center field
hit by Bailey Mundy.
Game ball went to James Pooler who had a double and also caught a sharp line
drive to 3rd base that hit him in the arm but he was able to hang on to it
without letting it hit the ground.
Nice game Yankees and Dodgers.
