This was quite possibly the best played, most exciting game of the
year. The Yankees took a 7-2 lead after 3 innings and the A's battled
back with 3 runs in the 4th and 1 run in the 5th to come within 7-6.
Alex Alvarado nearly tied the game in the bottom of the 6th with a hit
into the left field corner, but Christopher Biglen retrieved the ball
and threw to Mason Knight who relayed it to Parker Burr at home, who
tagged him just in time.
Mason Knight, Parker Burr, and Michael Hathaway all had
doubles in the game and Brandon Rosemont and Mason Knight had 2 hits
each. Julio Rosas made an excellent defensive play in right field by
throwing a runner out at 2nd base.
Great pitching by Miles Harrison, Brandon Rosemont, and
Mason Knight of the Yankees and Tyler Wagner, Dylan Parisi, and Nolan
Brekle of the A's allowed this game to be completed in less than 2
hours.
Great final game for these 2 teams who have been in 1st
and 2nd place throughout the season. Excellent sportsmanship was
displayed by the A's, who all congratulated the Yankees on a great game
and season. All told, this was a great example of Little League
baseball as it should be played.
