In the first inning, Tigers' pitcher Will Burton shut
out the A's. The Tigers came back with five runs scored by Devin McNally, Alex
Cummings, Will Bonnington, Ryan McNally and Tyler Norby. A.J. Marx, Andy
Mavrakos and Mario Reyes of the A's did get a great out by running down a
Tiger between third and home.
In the second inning, Burton blanked the A's again. The
A's kept the damage down to three runs, only allowing James Pooler, Sam Cork
and Steven Carlson to score. Catcher Mavrakos tagged a runner out trying to
steal home and pitcher Eric Carlson struck out the two last batters to end the
inning.
In the third inning, the Tigers Ryan McNally scored the
only one run due to some outstanding defense work by the A's. Marx got a force
at second; short stop Jordan Atristain threw to Tyler Bee at second for a tag;
and Mavrakos ran down a player trying to steal home.
In the fourth, pitcher Mavrakos blanked the Tigers,
striking out two batters. Bee threw to Haeffner for a great out. The A's
Domanic Glenn scored a run for the A's.
In the fifth, the A's put five runs on the board,
scoring Mavrakos, Haeffner, Cody Pettit and Carlson. The Tigers Ryan Nordlie
scored their only run in the bottom of the inning. Pitcher Jack Brown struck
out two batters and threw to Tim Haeffner at first for the other out.
In the sixth Bee was able to score before Tigers pitcher
Devin McNally managed to assist on two outs and strike out for the third to
end the inning.
