A's player Jack Brown threw to A.J. Marx for a key tag at third base to help hold the Yankees to only two runs in the first inning. Brown then helped answer the A's with a run of his own.
              
The second inning was best for the Yankees, where they scored five runs. Andy Mavrakos and Erik Kristiansen of the A's answered back in the second with two runs. Kristiansen's run came on a great slide into home plate.
              
Pitcher Eric Carlson helped keep the Yankees runs to four in the third inning by catching a key fly ball for an out.
              
In the fourth, the Yankees were held to only three runs, helped by a great bunt by Yankee Kenny Cuneo. David Hollenbeck, A.J. Marx and Tim Haffner scored runs for the A's in the fourth.
              
In the fifth the Yankees were held to two runs. Marx and Mavrakos got one of the outs in a rundown between third and home. Kristiansen stole home a second time in the fifth for the A's and Marx hit an infield hit which he ran to an inside the park homer.
              
In the sixth inning, pitcher Hollenbeck kept the Yankees down to four runs by getting all three outs on strikeouts. The A's Carlson, Brown and Domanic Glenn scored runs for the A's in the sixth.

The Yankees came out and scored in all 6 innings enroute to a 19-10 victory. The Yankees were led in hitting by Alex Bates who had 2 singles, followed by Ammiel Ocampo who had a triple & Andrew Sullivan, Joey Williams,Codey Bertlin who each had singles. Drake Holman got his first hit of the year for the Yankees. Good Job Drake!!!

              
For the A's, they were led in hitting by Eric Carlson who started the game with a double & also had a single. Jack Brown, Domanic Glenn, David Hollenbeck & A.J. Marx also had hits for the A's.
