Summary Minor Division
Indians vs
Athletics - April
16, 2005
Indians 16 -
Athletics 10
Both teams played really well. The Indians took an early
lead but the A’s kept their game on and made the Indians earn their win.
The Indians dominated the first inning, lead by Johanna
Rivera who ripped a double on the first pitch. They held the lead in the
second and third innings but slowed down, only scoring one run in each of the
fourth and fifth. Andrew Robles caught a fly ball for the first out of the
game. Robles was a one man defense in the third inning by striking out two
batters and fielding the ball to the first baseman for the last out.
Erik Kristiansen rallied the A’s by sliding into home
for the first A’s run of the game. Tim Haffner added to the run count and Andy
Mavrakos slid home for a third. Kristiansen knocked in two runs and scored the
third in the third inning. Jack Brown, Domanic Glenn and Cody Pettit scored in
the fifth, then Mavrakos scored again in the sixth. Mavrakos and David
Hollenbeck proved indomitable catchers, garnering three close tags at the
plate.
