Behind Mikie Bottini’s 1 run, 4 hit, 1 walk, 10 strikeout, pitching performance through 5 innings and his 2 doubles the Angels defeated the Yankees in 8 innings, 7 ­ 1. After a walk and an error in the 6th put the winning runs on, Bobby Morales came on to throw a wild pitch to tie the score
and put the winning run at 3rd.  He then proceeded to strike out the side to force extra innings.

The Yankees had the winning run at 3rd in the 7th as well after Morales hit Paloma Woods and consecutive passed balls by the Angels catcher moved her over but Bobby again struck out 2 Yankee hitters to escape trouble. Yankee pitchers walked 5 Angels in the 8th inning sandwiched around RBI singles by Tommy Madge and Andy Rouse to score 6 times. Morales then closed out the game with a strike out and two ground balls for the win. Bobby’s pitching line, 3 innings, 0 runs, 1 hit, 7 K’s and one hit batter. A backhanded stab of a line drive in the 4th inning by Steven Dye preserved a one run Angels lead to that point.

Sam Bouquin led the Yankees with 4 singles. He also threw six innings allowing 1 run, 5 hits and 2 walks while striking out 12. Mario Duran also reached base twice and pitched one inning of no run, 2 strikeout baseball.
