The Giants broke open a close game in the third inning with four runs to take a 6-1 lead and held on for an 8-1 victory. Kevin Kennedy continued his torrid hitting with two singles running his consecutive hitting streak to seven over three games. Marc Heider added two singles, and Michael Penovich, Quincy Conn, Devin McNally, Ryan Nordlie, and James Heller all had singles for the Giants. Conn, McNally, Brandon Peterson, and Daniel Golden combined to hold the Red Sox without a base hit.
