The Giants jumped to an early lead and held off the Dodgers, who battled every inning, to win 8-5.The Giants won without the benefit of a base hit, but got good pitching from Quincy Conn and Daniel Golden. Dustin Cooper had a leadoff home run to start the year for the Dodgers and singled as well.Chris Wolter hit a booming two-run triple and singled also for the Dodgers.
