Nick Tkachenko went 4 innings, gave up 1 hit, walked 5, stuck out 4 and also scored a run in an 8-2 win over the Yankees in the first round of the league tournament.
 
The Angels jumped on Yankee starter Billy Bristol for 3 runs in the first, capped by Seth Chatterley's inside the park 3 run homer. Bobby Morales was 3-3 with a run scored and Matt Roby and Seth Chatterley were each 2-2 with 2 runs scored. Chatterley had 5 RBI's on the day. Mikie Bottini added an RBI and a run scored.
 
Ryan Perry, Andy Sansoe and Joey Smith had the only hits for the Yankees. Garrett Jackman and Smith each scored once.
