Andrew Gardner's two out single in the 1st drove in two runs and another two out single in the 3rd drove in one to account for all of the Cardinal's scoring.  David Reid continued with his hot bat going 3 for 3 and scoring 2 runs.  Conor Harrington went the first 3 innings for the Cards giving up just 1 run and not walking a batter. Josh Keane pitched the final 3 innings allowing 1 run and striking out 7 of the 13 batters he faced.
 
The Yankees got strong pitching performances from Joey Smith and Mario Duran.  Billy Bristol went 2 for 3 and Ryan Perry kept the Yankees close with a few good defensive plays at 3rd base.
