Ray Buford and Nick Tkachenko combined on a 1 hit shutout and Michael Lord drove in 2 runs with a clutch 2 out single. Nick worked out of a no out, bases loaded jam striking out 3. Bobby Morales blocked numerous curve balls in the dirt this inning to prevent any runs to score. Lord and Tkachenko had 2 hits apiece. For the Yankees, Justin Staton struck out 7 in four innings while Ryan Perry added 2 strike outs. Staton had the only hit.
