After
stomping the East county #2 team the day before 14 – 0, Pinole-Hercules
was shut out in a 15 – 0 loss to Concord American. Bobby Morales
pitched an outstanding 3 innings with 4K’s and giving up only 1 hit and
3 walks. He finished up playing a great 2B. Bobby went 3-for-4
with a pair of doubles and 4 RBI’s.
Corey
Galindo started playing a solid SS and finished off pitching in the 4th,
in a 1-2-3 inning, working hard with 2K’s. Corey went 4-for-4 with
a double and 4 RBI’s. With Bobby and Corey pitching, John Mendoza
behind the plate, and a solid defense, Pinole was shut out in 4 complete
innings.
Concord
American couldn’t have scored their 15 runs throughout the 4 innings without
a hard-working offense. Help came from Connor Harrington (2-for-4)
with an RBI, Mikie Bottini (2-for-2) with an RBI, Sean Flannery (2-for-3)
with a double and an RBI, Ray Buford (1-for-1) with an RBI, Andrew Gardner
(1-for2) with an RBI. Connor Knoll, Michael Rule, Christian Saylor, and
Drew Farley helped in the win playing each of their positions to the T.
