This was the rescheduled game from 5/18. The White Sox put up huge effort to play the spoiler for the Braves. This game was well played and no team was able to get a larger than 3 run lead. The Braves fought back from a 6-3 deficit in the bottom of the forth to tie it. In the bottom of the fifth, the Braves were able to squeeze a run in to take a 7-6 lead.
But the White Sox fought back scoring the tying run, but leaving the tie-breaking run on third. The Braves then had Mark Cosgrove lead off the bottom of the sixth with a base hit and a couple of extra bases on an overrun of the ball in the outfield. Justin Chisholm won the game with a base hit up the middle to score Mark Cosgrove from third.
With
this victory the Braves clinched the AAA TOC berth. The White Sox fought
for every inch and improved throughout the season. My hat is off for the
improvement and no-quit attitude that the White Sox have showed this year.
The Braves were fortunate to get a victory out of!
this
game.
