Concord American Baseball
Game Summary  Major Division
Angels  vs Giants - April 24, 2002
Angels 4  -  Giants 1

The Angels and Giants met for the second time this season and once again battled in a very close contest.   For the Angels, pitcher Westley Weinstock threw 4 strong innings giving up only one run.  He had to be removed in the 4th because of an arm injury and was replaced by Matt Roby who completed the game while not allowing any more runs for the Giants.

Both teams played excellent defense especailly the Giants who threw out a runner at home plate, and made some key plays for outs when the Angels had runners in scoring position keeping the game close.

In the final at bat for the Giants, they had runners on first and third with 2 out.  The final batter hit a hard line drive to shortstop Bobby Morales who made a nice catch to end the game.

Other contributers for the Angels were Steven Dunsmore, Michael Lord, Seth Chatterly, Drew Farley, and Carlos Cameron with key walks and great base running.  Steven Bewley had three strong innings behind the plate as did Bobby Morales, while Matt Bishop made several key outs at third.  Westley Weinstock connected for a solid tripple down the right field line, and made an excellent throw on a swinging bunt for a put-out at first base.

The Angel's next game is on Saturday, April 27th at 2:00 pm against the Yankees.
